Holiday Happenings at the Marion's Mittens HQ

As Christmas gets closer I've been finalizing preparations for the holiday week ahead. My decorating has been mostly done for a while (see it here and here) but I added a few things. And of course, baking season is in full swing!

I had more of my grandparents' glass ornaments but not a lot of tree space. So, I tied clear thread to some of the ornaments and hung them from the dining room chandelier.

Other ornaments went into a hurricane vase along with some peacocks.

Here are sugar cookies made from an ancient Betty Crocker cookbook recipe plus some almond icing. Of course, I also baked rolls from my grandmother's orange crescent recipe.

I've had some visitors at the bird feeder... mostly chickadees, woodpeckers, titmice, bluejays, and a furry guy that doesn't really fit in.

And of course I've been squeezing in some knitting in between wrapping presents and checking the oven. Mini mittens for toddlers ages 18-24 months are back in stock in sparkle white and sage green. I'm also finishing up the thumbs on a pair of watermelon hot pink mittens for kids ages 3-4.

I won't be on the blog again until next Monday, so I hope you have a very Merry Christmas!
