A Little Pair of Mittens and a Pompom Hat

Our favorite little customer sent us some photos of her wearing her Marion's mittens and hat, so we just had to share! The hat's from last winter and it still fits due to the great stretch of the yarn we use.

Six Years of Marion's Mittens... on Etsy

We have reached the six year mark on Etsy! While Marion has been knitting for friends, family, and local sales for more than 75 years, our venture onto Etsy was the first time people around the world learned about her mittens.

Here are three things we've loved about being on Etsy this year!

1. Customers

Our customers are just the best. Whether they find exactly what they're looking for and order it without any interaction, or they request something custom and we have a lot of messages back and forth to get it right, it's so much fun to hear from our customers.

5 star reviews

Here is some customer feedback from our sixth year on Etsy:
"Best mittens ever. I love the new colors, and the old mittens I have bought from Marion are still great even after all the sledding, and washes. Thanks." - Margaret, October 30, 2017
"These fit my 4 year old perfectly and are so well made. Great purchase and fast shipment." - Jodi, November 16, 2017
"I bought this as a gift for my daughter and she was delighted!" - Karen, November 21, 2017
"I bought my first pair of Marion's Mittens back in 2012 and after so many wearings and washings, they still look and feel as good as new. I purchased this new pair as a back-up because I live in fear of losing my beloved mittens! Thanks again!" - Jennifer, December 13, 2017
"Beautiful! I can't wait to give them to my daughter on Christmas." - Colleen, December 23, 2017

"I can't rave enough about the quality of these mittens. I have a few pairs that I wear regularly in winter, and I keep coming back as a return customer to give more as presents because my friends and family all want some too. You can't go wrong with Marion's Mittens!" - Nathan, June 24, 2018
"I love this little pom-pom!!! It is so CUTE!! Nice Job!!! FABULOUS SELLER and FAST SHIPPING!! Thank You!!! PERFECT!!!!!" - Sherry Lee, July 26, 2018
There were so many great reviews it was hard to choose! You can see all 220+ of them here.

2. Reaching Near and Far

Some of our items stay local - others went as far as The Netherlands and Australia in the past year!

3. Learning New Things

Laura learned to crochet this year and her aunt started knitting on an Addi machine. We're always up for something new... when we have time! Mittens keep us pretty busy.

Looking back... Knitted Baby Wear Photo Shoot

These photos are over a year old, but I thought this would be a fun post to share! My friend had a baby and offered to let me shoot some photos of her wearing some of her knitted hats and sweater.

The Perfect Mittens for Frozen Anna Cosplay

It's not unusual for our mittens to be a part of our customers' Halloween costumes. But recently our mittens have been appearing in cosplay outfits, too!

Sarah Brice of @lifeofcosplay spotted our ocean blue mittens and thought the color would be perfect for her Anna costume. She chose well - I think they are spot on!

These mittens are available in our shop in sizes for babies, kids, and adults.

And another customer decided our blue mint color would be perfect for her Elsa costume... photos of that one will be coming soon.  :)

Marion's Mittens Etsy Shop Receives 150th Review!

Another happy customer left the 150th review for the Marion's Mittens Etsy shop.

Marion is always super excited to hear about the reviews left by our customers.

We love having such great customers who enjoy the things that they order from us. Appreciative buyers make all of the work to knit the pieces, photograph and list and market them, and ship them well worth it.

Thanks to all of our customers, past and future!  :)

Customer Photos: Babies Wearing Sweaters & Mittens

We love it when our customers share photos of our knitted mittens and other items being worn. Here are some photos submitted by our customers this year. Faces blurred to protect the innocent.  ;)

Looks like lots of people are having baby boys these days!

If you have ordered something from us, please consider sharing a photo. It helps us see how our items fit a variety of ages and sizes. It's especially tough for us to guess how mittens and sweaters will fit babies and kids, so if we can see them wearing the items, we can reconfigure our sizing or update our suggestions accordingly. This helps everyone to have a better experience.

Feel free to share your photos with us on social media @MarionsMittens (Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter) or via email at Marions.Mittens@gmail.com.

We're "Famous" - Mittens & Scarves on the Stage & Screen

Our products are handmade and unique, making them an excellent choice for film and theater productions. It's always exciting to learn that our mittens or scarves are headed somewhere where so many people will see them!

Here are a few examples...

it went to the Park Avenue Armory's production of Macbeth

Where in the World are Marion's Mittens' Customers? A Pin Map

Whenever I call her to report a sale, Marion always wants to know where the mittens are headed. At first it was interesting that someone in the South wanted a pair. Then there were some orders from Canada.

As of today, our mittens have been shipped to four continents! 35 of the 50 states in the USA have received mittens. (Update - there was just an order from Hawaii, making it 36 states! It's not yet reflected on the maps below.)

I thought it would be fun to track all of the sales on a map. BatchGeo is a really cool website that allows you to create a custom pin map.

Looks like we need to get some more customers out West. Can anyone help?  ;)

Happy Halloween from Marion's Mittens! Featuring Customer Photos.

It's almost Halloween and I haven't even bought candy yet! Who knows if we'll get trick-or-treaters, so it'll have to be a kind we like to eat, just in case...

One of my favorite parts of Halloween (besides all of the spooky decorations) is seeing what costumes the kids are wearing when they come to the door. If sales of our yellow mittens were any indication I think that LEGO costumes will be popular this year! And of course, Frozen, too.

Anyway, I thought I'd share a couple of Halloween costume photos that were sent in by Marion's Mittens customers. Feel free to share your costumes featuring our mittens in the comments, or on Facebook.

This first photo is a family of traditional LEGO figures! The bodies and heads are absolutely great. The color of the mittens seems to be a good match. Way to go!

And here's Emmett the construction worker from the LEGO movie. I added the LEGO face for privacy.  ;)
